The purpose of this event is to show the Japanese diasporic movement, specifically to Latin America. The focal topic will be Japanese-Brazilian relationship, specifically, in focus of Japanese Brazilian society. The first part of the event will be led by Dr. Kaoru Ueda who will introduce the °®åú´«Ã½ Hoover Institute’s Japanese Diaspora Initiative and share a brief history of the Japanese diasporic movement to North and Latin America. Followed by her, Consul Hoshino will share his experience as a Japanese diplomat in Brazil. The second part will be an interactive workshop where participants will learn origami and have their names signed in Japanese Calligraphy style.
