Marxisms Reading Group - Winter Quarter 2025 Week 6 Meeting

Join us for the third Winter Quarter 2025 meeting of Marxisms,Ìýa bi-weekly DLCL reading group.Ìý
We will focus onÌýChapter 1 ofÌýCombined and Uneven Development, titledÌý"World-Literature in the Context of Combined and Uneven Development". As you may know, this anthology aims to introduce readers to the Warwick Research Collective's way of studying literature transnationally.ÌýOur discussions have sometimes touched upon the differing ways communities position themselves in relation to world capital and its own narratives of progress. In this session, we hope to concentrate on this issue. We would be very happy if you could join us in formulating how all we have learned so far on Marx(ists') theory can impact the way we think fiction, poetry, and the like.Ìý
The Marxisms Reading Group is dedicated to reading and discussing Marxist thought and Marxist approaches to aesthetics from a variety of times and places. Our focus is on how Marxist thought has both influenced and been critiqued by writers from the times and places which our members study.Ìý
Anyone with an interest in Marxisms is welcome (and encouraged!) to join.
