Jonatan (Jon) Tadmor is a graduate student in the department of Comparative Literature, focusing on 20th and 21st century Jewish literatures and cultures in Hebrew, English, and Yiddish. Jonatan holds a B.A. in Literature and the Multidisciplinary Program in the Arts, as well as an M.A. in Literature, from Tel Aviv University. Jonatan’s master’s thesis focused on the movements between the impersonal and the personal in the poetry of Hezy Leskly, who was among the first openly queer Hebrew poets. Other research interests include adaptation studies, translation studies, gender and sexuality studies, modern Hebrew poetry, modernist American poetry, and global (post)modernisms. Jonatan also translates poetry from Hebrew to English and vice versa, including works by Avot Yeshurun and Marianne Moore.
